Annual Business Breakfast 2015 herald a huge success

Over 200 businesses attended the Chamber business breakfast in The K Club on Friday ( 20th March) for their Annual Sell out event. This year’s key note speaker was renowned business entrepreneur Denis Brosnan. Businesses who attended included PWC, Pfizer, Kerry EMEA, Ballymore Properties and O’Kelly Sutton.
Denis Brosnan engaged the room from start to finish with tales of the success story that is Kerry. Denis was founder and chairman of Kerry and went on to be Chair of HRI for 22 years. His involvements stretch to roles which included chairing an executive advisory group in the regeneration project in Limerick City.
“The Government needs to put more money into the pockets of consumers so that SME’s in Ireland can feel the benefit of the economic recovery. But it will take a further 5 years before we are totally out of the economic turmoil “, said Brosnan. He stated that emigration will continue for a few more years and squeeze on incomes have been crippling SME’s.

Brosnan blames the bank and the government, “I blame the government for not saying to the banks – you have got to lend,” . When asked how important it is to have a sitting Ministerial TD in the county to assist with FDI, he was blunt in his answer, “ Do it yourself, get out there and do it yourself”
Vice President of the Chamber, Vivian Cummins in his opening address to members informed the room that the President of the Chamber Niall Browne was on a trade visit to China with Maynooth University, hence the reason he was introducing Denis Brosnan. Cummins informed the packed room, that the Chamber is also initiating a trade visit to New York where the organisation will bring Kildare Businesses to the US to further promote and develop links with businesses.
Next up for the Chamber is a Business Breakfast this Friday in Newbridge Silverware with guest speaker Tim Husbands, MBE and CEO of Titanic Belfast.
