Chamber celebrate International Women’s Day this week

North Kildare Chamber this week celebrated International Women’s Day in the VIP suite in Kildare Village.  Guest speaker at the breakfast was CEO of the Irish Internet Association Joan Mulvihill.

Allan Shine introduced Joan by saying, “International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women”. He acknowledged in attendance Fiona O’Loughlin TD, the first ever elected female TD for South Kildare.

Joan Mulvihill is one of Irelands Leading female entrepreneurs who spoke at the Chamber breakfast about her career to date,  being made redundant in 2008 and despite, as she flippantly remarked, having “more degrees than a thermometer”, things looked discernibly bleak she is now CEO of an organisation which assists companies tap into the rapidly developing online world.

The event was sponsored by recent Chamber award winners Kildare Village and in attendance were representatives from a multitude of companies.  Shine continued by saying “ Events such as this today are extremely important for business in so many ways. I was very encouraged and pleased to see so many high profile companies attend and delighted that are women in business events continue to flourish”
