Role Overview

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the Chamber in achieving its strategic objectives, representing members at local, regional, and national levels. This high-profile role requires exceptional leadership, business acumen, and the ability to drive membership growth, policy influence, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Board to develop and deliver the Chamber’s strategic plan.
  • Maintain best-practice governance and financial transparency.
  • Lead business development plans to grow membership and diversify revenue streams.
  • Act as the Chamber’s primary representative with government, media, and industry bodies.
  • Oversee strategic marketing, communications, and public relations activity.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture among staff and stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective management of the Chamber’s office, I-Hub space, and regulatory compliance.
  • Report regularly to the Board on progress, finances, and operational performance.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in leadership, management, or related discipline (desirable).
  • Third-level qualification in business, management, or a related field (essential).
  • Third-level business qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven senior leadership experience in a membership organisation or similar.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Outstanding communication and networking skills, with media and public relations experience.
  • Proven ability to represent an organisation at senior levels nationally and locally.
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
