Exciting news! DannyBoy, the feature film comedy-drama, will receive its TV premiere on RTÉ 2, this September, Friday 9th at 10pm.

Produced by DannyBoy Films LTD and Frame it Productions, this coming-of-age Irish romantic comedy is directed by Ferdia Mac Anna and written by Ferdia and Mary Duffin. Leading actors Clelia Murphy, Darragh Byrne, Alexandra Moloney, Paddy C. Courtney, Jack Hickey, Helena Geoghegan and Lucy Jones star in this award-winning film all filmed in County Kildare.

“Anyone can make a movie, but it takes a true artist to breathe life into a story” – Winner of the ‘Best Comedy Film’ at Beloit 2021 International Film Festival, as well as the ‘Best Feature Film’ at  Birmingham 2020’s Film Festival, this wonderfully light-hearted, quirky film centres around Daniel Buckley. Following his father’s disappearance, nervous teenager DannyBoy must grow up quickly to manage his madcap family- especially his eccentric mother. In the 80’s, life was much simpler- no social media, no smartphones…just smartarses, good music, bad advice and even worse fashion…a perfect time to fall in love for Daniel.

Let the authentic costumes and time-honoured music take you back in time as you plunge into the exciting world of teenage romance. Laugh and cringe at Danny’s relatable and unadulterated coming of age tale this September, Friday 9th at 10pm on RTÉ 2. DannyBoy will also be available on the RTE Player for 30 days from the day of screening.
