Grainne Shaffrey
The last Athy ‘First Friday’ meeting of 2016 will be held this Friday, the 2nd December 2016 in the Clanard Court Hotel.
Joe Boland, Director of Services at Kildare Co. Council has arranged for Grainne Shaffrey of Shaffrey Associates Urban Designers to return to present final designs for some of the public spaces around Athy town and environs. Grainne’s preliminary presentation in June was one of the best received presentations of the year as she explained the concepts behind some of the ‘Public Realm’ improvement works being proposed by Kildare Co. Council. The ‘Public Realm’ generally refers to all areas to which the public has access (such as roads, streets, lanes, parks, squares and bridges and open spaces).
The ‘First Friday’ meetings are hosted in conjunction with the Athy Enterprise Network* in the Board Room of the Clanard Court Hotel. Refreshments and sandwiches are provided from 12.45 pm with the presentation commencing at 1 pm sharp and concluding before 2 pm. Pre-booking is advisable to guarantee a place.
