Development gets under way on new Primary Care Centre in Celbridge, Co. Kildare
Chamber welcome latest new development for Kildare

Development has commenced on a new Primary Care Centre in Celbridge, Co. Kildare into which Ulster Bank will invest €5million and Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland Ltd will invest a further €2.3 million. Clarington Primary Care, a joint venture between Centric Health and Leading Edge Project Directors are the developers of this project.. The new facilities will enable the HSE to significantly increase the range and type of health care that they can provide locally to the community. The completed facility will be open to the Public in January 2017.
Clarington Primary Care has previously developed two Primary Care Centres on the Navan Road, Dublin 7 and in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. The strong combination of skill sets with Centric Health playing a major role in the provision of General Practice and other medical services in both Ireland and the UK and Leading Edge Project Directors providing the expertise in relation to all stages of the build project.
This new development, to be named Áras Sláinte, will comprise of a 37,000 square foot bespoke facility with three anchor tenants which will include the Health Service Executive, a general practice operated by Centric Health and a pharmacy operated by Mangan Pharmacies. The centre will also accommodate a well-proportioned physiotherapy gym, occupational therapy gym and a purpose-built wound treatment clinic in addition to a range of other clinic and group meeting rooms and a café and a convenience store.
Speaking at the sod turning ceremony at the development site , Councilor Frank O’Rourke, Kildare County Council, said: “This facility will provide essential health services for the people of Celbridge and surrounding areas. I want to compliment all those involved in developing this project. It will provide a much needed and comprehensive long term health service and provide much needed jobs in the construction phase in the medium term.”

Leading Edge Project Directors led by Managing Director PJ Monaghan will act as Project Directors in respect of the overall development. Leading Edge Project Directors are based in Dublin but have been very active in the Kildare region over the last 10 years. It was the Project Director responsible for the €50 million Pipers Hill Education Campus in Naas and it was also involved in the delivery of the Newbridge Primary Care Centre which opened its doors in March 2013. It is currently acting as the Project Director for the €50 million Phase II expansion of Kildare Village Outlet in Kildare Town and also the €8 million Primary Health Care Facility located in Kildare Town.
The Centric Health Celbridge Medical & Dental Practice will comprise a team of clinical doctors and nurses including four GPs, Dr. Sean O’Brien, Dr. Sybille O’Brien, Dr. Peter Moran and Dr. Anna Bardos after the amalgamation of their practices into a partnership. A local dental practice owned by Dr Paul O’ Boyle, Riverside Dental practice will also be part of the Medical & Dental practice.
