A large crowd gathered at Celbridge Primary Care Centre on Friday, April 20th for the official opening by Frank O’Rourke, T.D of a new Primary Care facility.

The impressive, €8 million Healthcare Facility has been providing valuable medical and dental healthcare services to the north Kildare area for almost two years, giving locals an alternative to the other medical services. The development was jointly funded by Ulster Bank and Cantor Fitzgerald and built by MDY who is a Kildare based contractor.

The 37,000 sq ft facility is set on 1.22 acres on the Maynooth Road, and the all-encompassing Primary Care Centre includes the Centric Health GP Practice, Mangan’s Pharmacy and Riverside Dental. The Centre provides invaluable Health Care Services and supports to the growing population of Celbridge and its environs which currently stands at circa 22,000 people.

The development is the latest in a number of projects developed by Clarington Primary Care which is a joint venture between Centric Health and Leading Edge Project Directors. Clarington has already successfully completed Primary Care Projects in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, and the Navan Road, Dublin 7 and is the preferred developer for projects in Swords and Lucan. Leading Edge Project Directors led the project under the guidance of its CEO Mr PJ Monaghan and Operations Director Mr. Conor Reilly.

Present at Friday’s official opening were Dr. Maurice Cox and Dr. Ray Power, both of whom founded Centric Health, while several members of the political and business community were also in attendance. Among them was Fianna Fáil T.D. Frank O’Rourke, a local representative who was hugely supportive of the creation of the Primary Care Centre for Celbridge town.

“I am delighted to be here today to witness the official opening of this fabulous Primary Care Centre which is currently providing a great service to the community and will undoubtedly continue to do so for the coming years,” said Deputy O’Rourke. “We pushed really hard to get this Centre developed in Celbridge, and it is one that is needed due to the growing population of the town. It is not just the Celbridge area that benefits from this facility, but the whole of north Kildare and the surrounding areas that stretch into west Dublin and south Meath.”

Guests at the launch event were given a tour of the new facilities before a plaque to mark the official opening was unveiled by T.D. Frank O’Rourke.

Speaking at the launch, Centric Health CEO and co-founder, Dr. Ray Power said; “We are delighted to see such a great turnout for the official opening of the Celbridge Primary Care Centre, and I am sure that everyone will be impressed by the range of services and therapies offered here. It is very much a community service and will benefit local people providing them with first class primary care services in their community.  We are delighted to have such strong local partners with Dr. Peter Moran, Dr. Sean and Dr. Sybille O’Brien having a strong history of first class GP care for the population of Celbridge for many decades.  We are also delighted to be joined in the Primary Care Centre on the dental side by Dr. Paul O’Boyle of Riverside Dental who has a strong local heritage of first class dental care in the Celbridge community.”

Dr. Ray Power, Centric Health Medical Director and co-founder, said, “There was a need to develop a Primary Care facility in the area due to the large and growing population of Celbridge, and along with our partners we have delivered a first class healthcare centre that we are all immensely proud of. We will continue to deliver more Primary Care facilities in the coming years to cater for the nationwide demand.”
