Enjoy a magical day out for all the family at the Enchanted Fairy and Elf Festival, 19 – 20 May and raise vital funds for Sensational Kids

Kildare Village hosts pop up shop to drive awareness of Sensational Kids activities to help children with additional needs, such as autism, dyspraxia and dyslexia

Children’s charity, Sensational Kids is calling on fairies and elves of all ages to dust off their wings and elf hats and join them for a magical day out at the Enchanted Fairy & Elf Festival in Rathwood, Tullow, Co. Carlow on Saturday, 19 and Sunday, 20 May.

All proceeds from the hugely-enjoyable event, which is now in its fourth year, will be used to fund Sensational Kids Early Intervention Services for children with additional needs such as autism, dyspraxia, dyslexia, down syndrome and other developmental delays.

Visitors to the event will be transported to a magical, fantasy land as they travel by train through the Rathwood trail and meet enchanting characters and wonderful surprises along the way.  Guests can also enjoy lots of fun activities in the Festival Area and each child also gets to take home a free Wooden Craft Activity.  With free hot chocolate and free parking, everyone will be kept happy on what is sure to be an unforgettable, family day out.

Tickets to the Enchanted Fairy & Elf Festival are priced at €10 for children and €7.50 for adults.  Pre-booking is required online at www.sensationalkids.ie and visitors can choose from a number of sessions over the two day event.  There is also a reduced-numbers session each morning at 10.30am for children with additional needs.

Sensational Kids is also delighted to announce that Kildare Village has come on board to support its fundraising activities.  The destination shopping outlet will host a ‘Sensational Kids’ pop up shop from 24 – 28 March.  Visitors to the pop up shop will be able to trial and purchase a wide array of educational and sensory toys, which are great fun for all kids and particularly beneficial for children with additional needs.

The talented team from Rathwood will also visit the pop up shop in Kildare Village to bring the Enchanted Elf and Fairy Festival to life with a taster of the fun activities that will take place in Rathwood in May.

Karen Leigh, founder Sensational Kids commented:We’re so grateful to Rathwood for inviting us to be part of this fantastic event for the past few years.  It’s a magical day out for all the family and a hugely important fundraising event for us.  We’re delighted also to have the opportunity to share our story at Kildare Village.  One in four children has special educational needs and it’s our goal to help as many of these children as possible.”

2018 marks the 10th anniversary of Sensational Kids, an award winning charity founded by Karen Leigh, who discovered first-hand, a lack of affordable support services for children with special educational needs.  To date, Sensational Kids has worked with more than 4,700 children through early intervention services at their child development centres.
