Kildare are in the All Ireland (premier junior) final an Sunday 15th Sept. All three Camogie finals are on in Croke Park that day and Kildare play neighbours Laois at 12 noon followed by Galway v Limerick (Intermediate) and Galway v Kilkenny (Senior). Kildare were last in (and won) an adult All Ireland in Croke Park 23 years ago in 1990. There is a link with the 1990 team as four of the current squad are related to the members of the squad of 23 years ago.
Kildare and Laois have met in competitive action on 2 occasions this so far this year. In the Leinster Championship (separate to All Ireland) Kildare had a good win over Laois to win the Leinster Final, while in the earlier stages of the All Ireland Championship, Laois reversed the result, winning by 3 points. Both teams won their semi finals with something to spare and approach the Final with confidence
