New National Skills Strategy 2025 – Public Consultation

The Department of Education and Skills has launched a public consultation on the development of a new National Skills Strategy to cover the period to 2025.

The Strategy will aim to ensure that Ireland’s current and future workforce needs are met through increased participation, educational attainment, skills development and skill use to achieve greater productivity and support economic and social prosperity and growth.

The public consultation aims to gather the views of stakeholders on the development of the new strategy. The consultation paper provides an overview of the education and training system, the labour market and business in Ireland and provides a series of questions for people to provide their views on.

The consultation paper is available to download from the Department’s website here

North Kildare Chamber recently hosted a Skill Shortages Seminar with speakers that included Minister Damien English TD and Sean Ashe CEO, KWETB.  Several of the outcomes from that seminar will form part of our submission.  We now welcome our members thoughts before we finalise our submission.  Please contact Allan Shine in the Chamber Office on 045 894074 by this Friday, 20th November
