North Kildare Chamber today welcomed the news that the Punchestown Festival is worth  €64 million to the local economy.  Allan Shine, CEO of the Chamber said, “The boost to the local economy is very welcomed, businesses are already looking forward to Tuesday, the start of the festival.  Naas Town is practically coloured red with bunting, flags and colourful shop fronts displays very evident.  Punchestown are offering €1000 for the best shop front display and this is also welcomed by the Chamber.   Feedback from our members today show that the vast majority of our Hotels are fully booked out for the festival.  Bars and Restaurants are also reporting very positive pre bookings.   Allan Shine concluded by saying “I am particularly delighted that several local businesses are supporting Punchestown this year,  this reinstates that the economy is on the upturn, Punchestown are expecting over 100,000 visitors next week and we are really looking forward to the festival and the boost to the economy in Kildare”
